Fit and finsh right out of the box is pristine. Razor sharp right out of the box. Rosecraft definitely goes above and beyond to ensure high quality knives are shipped. The staff at C. Riser Cutlery packages each order with respect and care. I continue to order from them because I feel valued with each order
Micarta is beautiful. Great polish and you can see the weave and grain in it nicely. One of the best walk and talk blade action I’ve ever seen on a traditional. Fit and finish was perfect.
I like this Sequatchie River Muskrat very much. It’s solidly built and has some heft for its size. I like to hold it in hand just for that reason and to admire the smooth micarta. I lost my first one and was very disappointed of it missing but was pleased TPK still had this pocket knife available. Ordered one at once. It arrived in my mailbox very quickly. This knife is very sharp and snappy. I recommend it to anyone.
I really like the design with the narrow blades with a lot of distal taper. I also like the different angles of the two blades when open. The wight and the size feel very nice in my hand. Micarta scales are nice and smooth but not too smooth. Almost feels like G10. I will use this knife as a bird and trout knife. The only downside is the location of the nail nick making it too hard to open the blades for someone with weak nails or aging fingers. I. would like to see it as stag or bone edition. Otherwise it is pretty much perfect.
Like all of RoseCraft Blades the level of execution on this muskrat is top shelf. However, be aware the blades have a strong pull, so if you have arthritis in your hands and fingers like I do you might want to consider keeping blades open for a spell at an angle. I've done that and already noticed that they open easier. Also, keep in mind when you buy this or any knife from Jason and his crew you are not only buying a well made knife buy you are getting a level of customer service above and beyond any normal buying experience.
