I had never seen a GEC knife in person before my purchase. Always wondered what the fuss was all about and they were always sold out everywhere before I got a chance to order. Now I know. The fit and finish is flawless. The blades came truly sharp, without burrs. The half stops on the small blades are firm. The large blade opens softly, without a half stops, but locks solidly in place when fully open. C. Risner Cutlery, as always, got the knife all the way to me in Alaska within a few days, which is no small feat to do once, let alone consistently. I’m thoroughly happy with my purchase (and I wasn’t sure I would be given the price of the knife). Now that I can see it myself, I thoroughly recommend picking up a GEC to anyone who appreciates artful, U.S. made craftsmanship.
