Gong! The Undertaker comes to claim another owner. Beautiful sharp tool made of high quality materials and gorgeously dressed in a fat carbon. Glad I was able to get this when I did. Thank you.
Finch just has a fantastic approach to knife making and if you spend some time with one you'll get it. I own a couple and will definitely buy more. Why? First off, design. They have their own language and it is very good on almost all their offerings. Most knives are under $200 and check off so many boxes that you'll want to keep it in your pocket for long periods. So now to the Undertaker... Love it. It's worth the price, but the price is high. I don't mind spending a little extra to support them because the design is great. But at $220 there are lots of titanium options with similar blade steel to their S35VN and their construction is SS. That said, Open or closed its a looker with that Mars Carbon. Blackwash looks excellent. Super slicy blade and a glorious "ting" rings out when you flip it. Jimping covers the bolster lock, and both sides of the flipper tab as well as the end of the spine on the blade. I have come to enjoy those spots visually and by touch. Stays centered, detent is perfect. Just looks awesome which is why I bought it. Here's the negative other than price, the clip. Extremely tight, will shred pockets over time. Looks great and is titanium but screw placement should have been horizontal not vertical which would give it more length and flex and you would have an easier time latching your pocket. Would be easier on your finger too. They got that worked out on the Stray dog which in my opinion has no flaws and their carbon offering is $175 but lacks premium steel. So price is high, I don't love the clip but that's it. Great American designed knife with so much to like. And I do like the integration of the clip visually (just not functionally). Overall package is... It's a banger for a relatively inexpensive knife. I do not regret owning this knife, you won't be disappointed. And lastly, thank you Austin for letting me pick from your stock to find the scales I was looking for for my collection. One of the best places to by a knife hands down!
