I already had an Appalachian Ridgerunner exclusive and knew what quality knives they were with excellent walk and talk, but couldn’t turn down this one at a fantastic sale price. This is one big razor sharp slipjojnt, so be sure to get a large TPK slip with it. One cover on the one I got has way more red in it than the other, which was slightly disappointing, but that’s the nature of fat carbon and it still looks fine with more black and white on one side. (You can always ask Austin or Brian to check your knife before they ship, which they’ve always been generous about doing.) Not sure how long these are going to continue to be available at this discounted price, so you should grab one soon.
This is the best large slipjoint I've ever had the pleasure of owning and using.
Elegant, classic, proud, would be some descriptors when asked about the Appalachian Ridge runner. Design, form, fit, and function are absolutely top notch. The Snow Fire carbon scales sent me over the edge as, intentional or not, giving it the Red and White Canadian colours. The S90V blade with its hollow grind is a laser beam, sure enough when given to an old timer to inspect and even with my warning of "Careful she's real sharp" he was still able to cut himself. Guess I will just keep it in the leather sheath on my belt where it will live the rest of my life, and serve me well. All my possible thanks.
This is THE Classic old school Jack Knife but with improved modern materials
Very well designed and well built generous sized knife. Will be designated to my collection, but am sure would do great in Austin’s testing protocol or everyday use. Great value with materials used. Really looks and feels good in hand! Excellent offering directly designed by Austin Alexander.
