For years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with a skilled leather maker and designer in Oregon to create the perfect knife slips. Crafted from vegetable-tanned leather, these slips are free from harmful chemicals and won’t trap moisture, ensuring your knives stay protected from corrosion or damage. Over time, the leather naturally molds to fit your knife, providing a custom feel. Designed for convenience, you can simply squeeze or push to have your knife ready for use in an instant!
By using a unique blend of waxes, oils, and tallows, the leather company enhances these leathers through a process known as hot stuffing, bringing out their natural beauty and durability. Through jack glazing, oils are drawn to the surface, creating a rich, glossy finish that accentuates the leather’s natural grain rather than masking it. The result is Traditional Harness leather—renowned for its strength and resilience in equestrian gear, yet equally well-suited for premium leather goods when split to a lighter weight.
Another great knife slip with Risner logo on it. I really like all of the ones I have
ordered from Risner but this one is especially nice. I like the smell of tanned
leather. It is a perfect design and perfectly stitched. Great Job
My leather slip arrived today in perfect condition, paced very carefully and securely, I am always amazed by the craftsmanship and detail that comes with the leather slip and sewing. Will definitely be looking forward to seeing what comes out next.
This now makes my fourth leather slip from C. Risner. These slips are well-made and come at a good price. It holds my new GEC Tidioute Stogie with no problem!
Well-made, high quality leather slip for a great price. Size is perfect for the Appalachian Ridgerunner Slip Joint. Love the black leather/gold stitching combination on these!
First, I use knife slips whenever I carry a slipjoint. Secondly, I like nice leather slips…this one falls into that category…well-made and has the look of quality. It IS large, so check your dimensions first…probably better described as XL…fits a large knife like the recent GEC Texas Stogie and will probably work well with folding hunter styles…bigger than most but exteremely useful and well-made.
