Introducing our Premium Leather Slip Collection, crafted for those who appreciate the finest in quality and durability. Made from Buttero vegetable-tanned leather, these slips offer a richer feel, thicker construction, and a refined finish that ages beautifully over time. Designed to provide superior protection for your pocket knives while exuding classic craftsmanship, this upgraded line ensures both style and functionality in every carry.
For years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with a skilled leather maker and designer in Oregon to create the perfect knife slips. Crafted from vegetable-tanned leather, these slips are free from harmful chemicals and won’t trap moisture, ensuring your knives stay protected from corrosion or damage. Over time, the leather naturally molds to fit your knife, providing a custom feel. Designed for convenience, you can simply squeeze or push to have your knife ready for use in an instant!
By using a unique blend of waxes, oils, and tallows, the leather company enhances these leathers through a process known as hot stuffing, bringing out their natural beauty and durability. Through jack glazing, oils are drawn to the surface, creating a rich, glossy finish that accentuates the leather’s natural grain rather than masking it. The result is Traditional Harness leather—renowned for its strength and resilience in equestrian gear, yet equally well-suited for premium leather goods when split to a lighter weight.
These knife slips are high quality and the colors are well done. This alligator green is in my top two colors, the other being the purple. Next time you get a knife from TPK put one of these slips in your cart.
I have several of the older Risner leather slips and was always pleased with them. They're well made and do their job. I got this new slip just to try out the buttero leather and see if there was a significant difference. There is! It's both thicker and softer than the older leather. The increased thickness and softness will hold a knife more snugly than the older models while not making a noticeable difference in your pocket. The slips have the same dimensions as the old ones. I wish I could trade in all my older slips for ones made with this new leather! I'll probably be buying more buttero slips.
This thicker leather holds my knife more firmly and is softer. I’m enjoying the subtle green color and the quality of craftsmanship. I recommend the buttero knife slips, they are worth the extra 5 dollars.
Nicely stitched thick Buttero holds even the smallest knife securely, then breaks in beautifully. I have to be over 25 TPK slips now, and these Buttero ones are the best yet. I was going to put the new lime green Finch jackrabbit lockback into this one, but had an older dark green GEC 43 that matched it perfectly, and the combo is gorgeous. Lay out your slipjoints and start browsing the leather colors TPK offers, especially the Buttero ones, and pick one or several up, they’re worth it.
