Finch Model 1929 Smooth White Bone

Another Great Finch!

Finch is one of my favorite brands and the 1929 continues to be one of their best knife models! Fits so well in the hand for a small knife. The big belly allows for deep and slicey cuts. I knew I had to get the white bone and can’t wait to see it age with carry/use! I agree with Monty, I have a few proud screws, but overall I’d say it’s a 9/10 on the fit and finish. Don’t hesitate to add a Finch to your collection, you won’t be disappointed!

Criminally Underrated Knife!

This is actually the second 1929 I own. Originally I didn’t want to have to buy a whole new knife, I really just wanted some of the white bone scales. At the moment finch doesn’t sell replacement scales as an isolated product so I reluctantly decided to buy this one and use my original micarta model as a backup. Unbeknownst to me! I had no idea that this new trilogy of 1929s have been slimmed down in the handle/bolster area. (my terminology might be off) regardless this was a pleasant yet subtle surprise that makes the knife look and feel a little more streamline and proportionally correct. This might not seem like a big deal but I actually prefer my new one to my old one.

With that being said the tolerances and lock up feel substantially more solid than my old one but I’ve been carrying it for about a year almost every day so it’s probably just broke in. One thing I did notice about my new 1929 is that all of the screw heads are unapologetically proud. That doesn’t bother me at all because I’m fidgety, and I like to run my thumbs over them. I understand I’m not everyone, and that might bother some people. Though I reiterate everything is tight and solid as a boulder!

This knife is gorgeous! The bone scales and action are smooth as ice slathered with Vaseline. The pocket clip is stout and compliments the traditional minimalist aesthetic perfectly. And it’s very sharp!
It’s an instant classic that evokes feelings of sophistication and class while also bridging the gap into the camp of a humble cowboy or something!
The best way I can put it to words is “If Charles E. Boles aka. Black Bart was turned into a knife”

Love this little knife!

I love this little knife, and the fact it is another release in white bone just made it all the more special! Works great for the day to day uses!
